Seven Famous Part-time Professors

Who are they?

How would you like to learn your favorite subject from a famous filmmaker, top business executive, or world leader? Part time professors (or adjunct faculty) teach everything from remedial English to Medicine and Law. They also come  with credentials ranging from practical experience to post-doctoral degrees to being the rich and famous.

Oprah Winfrey Oprah Winfrey – Anyone who follows Oprah knows that she taught as an adjunct professor at Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Who wouldn’t want to learn about business from Oprah? James Franco

 

 

James Franco – He has dozens of credits to his name, including actor, filmmaker, soap star, Oscar host, Sundance star, and Oscar nominee. Did you know that James Franco was also a part-time professor? Spike Lee – A prolific and accomplished filmmaker, Spike Lee not only writes, but directs, produces and acts. He also teaches at universities such as his alma maters, Morehouse and NYU, as well as Clark Atlanta, Hamilton College, Chicago State University, Rutgers, Savannah State, DePauw, Shippensburg, and the College of William and Mary.     al_Gore

Carter could be seen at Emory University lecturing in the political science department, in the school of journalism, and at the Carter Center. Jill Biden – How would you like to take a community college course from the current Second Lady? Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, is an adjunct professor at the Alexandria, Va., campus of Northern Virginia Community College, where she teaches English literature and writing. Jill Biden was also the speaker for the colleges 44th commencement, where she said, “”I am a community college teacher not simply because I can help to inspire you, but because you inspire me.”
